Please read description below!

This "Introductory" workshop allows you to play in the paint and create FOUR GORGEOUS ABSTRACT PAINTINGS per Sign-up to enjoy a little creative R&R in between your hectic schedule. Specifically created for those that just want to destress and enjoy getting lost in the process of Pour Painting in 2 Hours (time will fly!) and create some beautiful artwork to boot. So why not take some time-out for yourself and discover the most addicting, relaxing, and fascinatingly beautiful act of Acrylic Pouring or "Fluid Art" with me in my Studio Loft.

We can all use a moment or two to relax, unwind and forget about our daily stresses, and that's why I've created this Fluid Art workshop. So why not take some time-out for yourself and discover the most addicting, relaxing, and fascinatingly beautiful act of Acrylic Pouring or "Fluid Art". This Private 1-on-1 workshop is a fun and introductory lesson on everything you need to create and take home 3 one-of-a-kind colorful abstract masterpieces per Sign-up. (Trust me, it's hard to do just one and walk away.) In this workshop you and I will cover prep, materials, various techniques, color use, proper mixing of mediums including finishing and protecting your pieces with a spray Varnish, or an optional Resin Epoxy topcoat*. You will choose your desired color palettes and you will control the movement of the fluid paints to create truly one-of-a-kind Zen like art pieces ready to hang on your home or office wall. These will also make great personal art gifts for your favorite Abstract Art Lover. If you'd like to gift this workshop to a friend or loved one, let me know in the message box and I'll create a gift card for you to present.

DAY 1: (2 Hours)

After a quick demonstration of various techniques and materials, you will take over (I will be right there to guide you along) and practice/experiment with popular Fluid Art Techniques on your Premium 8" x 8" Flat Canvas Panels. Heck, you may even discover your own signature technique, the possibilities are literally endless. Once you're feeling confident blending and layering the paints and colors and you're comfortable with the process, you will then move to creating your last Fluid Art Painting(s) on your Cradled Wood Panel(s) with your favorite technique. After you've completed your 4 Fluid Paintings and are satisfied, we then let them all dry for 48 Hours. After they are dry, I will varnish them in studio and have your finished pieces ready for pick up anytime at your convenience.

OPTIONAL DAY 2: (45 min) Scheduled at your convenience.

(*UPGRADE Option)- If you'd like to upgrade your finish and learn how to Epoxy your Cradled Panels, there will be a $15 Resin add on per panel you'd like to resin. You would return to the studio after your paintings have dried and I will show you how to properly prepare, measure, mix, pour, and torch (yes, there's a torch!) to finish your Cradled Panels with a Resin Epoxy Topcoat. No need to decide at checkout, I will show you examples of finishes to make your decision easier during Day 1.

All materials included. Canned Non alcoholic refreshments, sodas, bottled water, and sealed bags of chips and cookies will be provided for each day and/or you're welcome to bring your own! I will provide practice boards, wood panels, paints, gloves, cups, aprons, pouring medium, stir sticks, border tape, and blow torch (yes, there's a blow torch!), etc. for each Artist to make 3 Fluid Paintings on finished Cradled Boards to take home as well as your 3 Finished Canvas Panel Pours. You will also get a printed materials and prep list so you can create more fluid art pieces in the comfort of your home or studio after you've learned the basics with me! So get ready for a totally relaxing art vibe with the goal of encouraging a creative and imaginative experience. Although aprons and gloves will be provided, please consider clothing you don't mind getting a little acrylic paint on. Even though it's completely washable, Fluid Art can be a bit messy (and oh so liberating) depending on technique, application and Artist.

A little about paint pouring: If you are not familiar with fluid painting or paint pouring, it is a technique used with acrylic paints combined with a flow medium that when mixed with other colors creates unique and really amazing abstract color pop effects. Depending on the colors you pick and the technique you use, you can get a wide variety of gorgeous layered effects within an incredible piece of abstract fluid art that will amaze you, your friends, and family. Plus it is a very relaxing, therapeutic and healing form of art that is great for everyone!

Things to consider when deciding whether to upgrade to Epoxy Resin Topcoat:

  • Varnish Pros: It's an easy application and dries within minutes. If using Matte Varnish, it provides a soft but vibrant finish. Gloss Varnish provides a little shine to your piece, for a more "wet look". Although you never want to hang any artwork in direct sunlight, a varnished painting can be hung without as much consideration as with a painting with Epoxy Resin. Varnish provides a protective durable finish that will last for years without worrying where it's safe to hang.
  • Varnish Cons: None for this project. It's all about visual preference. However, if you prefer the hard candy shell look and feel, you'll want to go with Epoxy.
  • Epoxy Pros: Provides a sleek clear hard protective shell to your painting and colors almost seem to pop off the canvas in a 3D manner. Very eye grabbing. Richer Colors and more saturated in appearance than with Varnish. Metallic Paints really sparkle. Fun process to apply to your paintings.
  • Epoxy Cons: Fun application, but takes more patience and time. Takes 24 hours to cure. Resin does not like UV Rays of any sort, so you can not hang your painting near, in direct Sunlight or UV Lighting as it will tend to yellow over the years if exposed to UV Rays of any sort.

I look forward to seeing you and creating together with you! Once you've checked out, you're automatically reserved for your Private Workshop.
